Making Irmo a Thriving Community

 Political Information

As an Irmo resident and council member, I am a firm believer in the importance of political information when it comes to building a strong and prosperous community. Through collaboration with business owners and investors, we can attract new opportunities that benefit everyone in town. My focus as a public servant has been to make Irmo an easy place to do business with, and I am proud of the results we have achieved through majority council support.

But building a strong community goes beyond economic development. It requires a sense of belonging and investment from all residents. That's why I encourage and empower Irmo residents to get involved in community-building efforts, whether it's organizing events, volunteering, or simply chatting with neighbors. Small actions can make a big difference in creating a vibrant and caring community. As the Mayor of Irmo, I am committed to ensuring that our town is a wonderful place to live and raise children. I understand that this requires effort and dedication from all of us, and I am proud to work alongside my fellow council members and residents to make Irmo the best it can be.

HARDY KING IS

Serving the People

"As an elected official, I believe that my role is to serve the people of Irmo. That means working hard to make our town a better place to live, work, and raise a family. It also means supporting our excellent police department and first responders, who play a critical role in keeping our town safe. Any candidate who suggests eliminating the Irmo Police Department does not have the best interests of our community in mind. Let's continue to work together to make our town an even better place to call home."

Creating a Wonderful Place to Live in Irmo

As an Irmo resident and council member, I believe that building a strong sense of community is crucial for the well-being of our town. When we know and care about our neighbors, we become invested in the health and vitality of our community. It’s not just about having a nice place to live; it's about creating a wonderful place to raise our children and to call home.

Community building takes effort, but it is well worth it. By organizing events and activities, we can bring people together to socialize and connect. This can lead to new friendships and a sense of belonging. We can also work to beautify our town by planting flowers, cleaning up litter, and maintaining public spaces. These small acts can go a long way in fostering a sense of pride in our community.

Former Mayor, Hardy King's Convictions

As a public servant, my top priority is to ensure that Irmo remains a wonderful place to live and raise children. I believe that strong neighborhoods are the backbone of any great community, and it's my duty to make sure that our neighborhoods are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

I understand that not all neighborhoods are currently meeting these standards, and that's why I'm working with my fellow council members to update and enforce our ordinances. It's not about overstepping anyone's rights, but rather ensuring that everyone is acting responsibly and being considerate of their neighbors.

I'm guided by the belief that freedom and rights come with responsibility, and that we all have a duty to be good neighbors and contribute to the success of our community. Whether it's keeping our own homes looking great or helping our neighbors to do the same, we all have a role to play in making Irmo the best it can be.

HARDY KING PROMISES TO

Make Irmo's Neighborhoods Great Again

As an Irmo resident, I know how important it is to have well-kept and clean neighborhoods. Unfortunately, not all of our neighborhoods are in good shape due to the neglect of some homeowners. This is why the Council is taking steps to rewrite ordinances and regulations to ensure they are enforceable and clear. It is our responsibility as residents to be good neighbors and act responsibly so that every neighborhood in Irmo can be a thriving and desirable place to live.

The Link Between

Personal Responsibility and Freedom

Clarence Thomas, in his speech at Hillsdale College, emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining a thriving community. Freedom and rights cannot exist independently of our actions, and we must discharge our duties as good neighbors to keep our communities thriving. As elected officials, we have a responsibility to act when citizens forget their responsibility to their community. Let us work together to make every neighborhood in Irmo the best-looking in the area and keep our homes well-maintained.

KEEPING Our Town

Safe for All

Irmo has consistently ranked in the top 25 safest cities in South Carolina, with the latest ranking placing us at 15th out of 271 municipalities. To me, any rank within the top 10% is a great achievement. But more importantly, regardless of these rankings, our town has always been and continues to be a safe place to live. We have a great police department, low crime, and fast emergency response times. Let's continue to build on our strengths and make Irmo even better.

Setting The Record Straight

Councilman Walker's recent false narrative about crime in our town has been causing undue alarm among our residents. As an elected official, he should know better than to spread misinformation. The facts are clear: car break-ins have been steady for the last three years, with a small percentage of forced entry car break-ins occurring in residential areas. Most forced entry break-ins happen at commercial businesses, shopping centers, and fitness centers. Let's focus on the facts and work together to make our town safer.
